Cancer Treatment
Let our experts guide you through our coordinated cancer treatment process.
Cancer treatments, such as chemotherapy and radiation therapy, can affect the body’s ability to produce the healthy blood cells needed to recover and heal after treatments. Stem cell transplants and cellular therapies help replace damaged or destroyed blood cells. Since 1989, Baptist Cancer Center's Stem Cell Transplant Center has focused on providing innovative cancer treatments using high-dose chemotherapy with stem cell and cellular therapy to help cancer patients get the maximum benefit from their treatments.
Baptist Cancer Center offers a complete range of stem cell transplant and cellular therapy services to treat certain cancers, including lymphoma, leukemia, multiple myeloma and testicular cancer. These treatments use either the patient’s own stem cells (autologous transplantation) or stem cells donated by a related or unrelated donor (allogeneic transplantation).
In May 2021, Baptist Cancer Center's Stem Cell Transplant and Cellular Therapy Program became a treatment center for CAR T-cell therapy. During CAR T-cell immunotherapy, a person’s white blood cells are genetically modified to help fight cancer.
Our program is accredited by the Foundation for the Accreditation of Cellular Therapy for autologous and allogeneic transplantation. Baptist Cancer Center also partners with the National Marrow Donor Program® as a transplant center for the Be The Match® Registry, a global transplant network connecting unrelated donors with patients needing a stem cell transplant.
Delivering the most appropriate care for a specific cancerous disease requires the highest level of knowledge, planning and commitment. Our doctors, nurses and transplant coordinators deliver compassionate care close to home for patients who require a stem cell transplant or cellular therapy.
