THRIVE Survivorship Program
THRIVE stands for Together, Heal, Restore, Inspire, Value and Empower. THRIVE exists to help you —physically, emotionally and spiritually — from the moment of diagnosis to survival.
At Baptist Cancer Center, you become a cancer survivor the moment you receive your diagnosis. Our THRIVE Survivorship Program helps you not only survive cancer and treatment, but thrive during and after treatment. Our program covers topics on navigating cancer, nutrition, movement, mindfulness, research, finances and insurance, spiritual health, genetics and support groups.

Scalp Cooling
One emotionally and physically challenging part of cancer treatment could be losing your hair. We are excited to offer scalp cooling technology to help minimize hair loss during chemotherapy. To some, this can provide hope and strength.
Scalp cooling systems are tight-fitting, helmet-like therapeutic caps that cool your scalp during chemotherapy sessions. It works by constricting the blood vessels in the scalp through with cold air, which reduces the amount of blood and chemotherapy medicine that reaches your hair follicles. The scalp cooling systems are attached to a refrigeration machine that regulates the temperature of the cap throughout your chemotherapy session.

Spiritual Support
Baptist Cancer Center is part of Baptist Memorial Health Care, and healing, preaching and teaching are central to our mission. Our chaplains help with healing by providing compassionate care, comfort and support through listening, prayer and scripture around the clock, regardless of your family’s denomination. They are available to you when you receive your diagnosis, are dealing with the unknown and possibly facing loss and grief.
