Access to Care
Cancer care for many patients involves managing medicine, prescriptions and drug therapies. At Baptist, our pharmacy teams dedicate their time to counseling patients and providers on the best medicine management and care.
Many cancer treatments require a prescription for specialty medication — a medication that requires a combination of special handling, storage, extra or prior authorization, financial assistance and other services that your local pharmacy may not be able to provide.
Baptist Specialty Pharmacy offers patients a convenient service for filling specialty prescriptions. While located in Memphis, Tennessee, our pharmacy staff works closely with all of Baptist’s providers throughout our footprint in Mississippi and Tennessee. The team will assist your oncologist with obtaining approval for oral oncology medications and will deliver them to your home free of charge, if allowed by your insurance plan.
Oral oncology medications can be expensive, and the staff at Baptist Specialty Pharmacy is highly trained to assist you in finding financial assistance, such as co-pay cards from manufacturers, if available. Baptist Specialty Pharmacy holds specialty pharmacy accreditation from the Utilization Review Accreditation Commission (URAC) and the Accreditation Commission for Health Care (ACHC).
